ATLANTA – (July 22, 2002) Sto Corp, the innovative world leader in cladding, coating and restoration systems, has released reformulated and improved premium finishes to bolster Sto’s presence in the growing EIFS marketplace.
Stolit® and StoSilco® Lit are now available in new, improved formulas to help further establish Sto Classic & Premier Systems as premium commercial and residential wall claddings.
How did Sto improve the best finishes on the market? “Stolit and StoSilco Lit are improved with the addition of Sto Optilink”, commented Mike O’Neil, EIFS product manager. “We developed Optilink to further distinguish our premium finishes from the rest of the marketplace in quality and durability.”
Sto Optilink is a remarkable polymer technology development by Sto that improves the curing and film formation process. It works by forming intermolecular associations among all key ingredients such as polymer, fillers, biocide, aggregates and pigments. Optilink acts as a sort of “coordinator” to help arrange, or link, these primary components into a very ordered structure.
The addition of Optilink allows these premium Sto finishes to go beyond the performance levels of standard acrylic finishes. Film integrity and key performance properties like dirt pickup resistance, mildew and algae resistance, and color stability are optimized. So, optimizing and linking = Optilink.
Stolit is a ready-mixed, acrylic-based exterior or interior textured wall finish. Stolit is used as a decorative and protective wall coating over prepared concrete, masonry and plaster substrates and in Sto Cladding Systems, including Sto Classic and Sto Classic NExT™. Stolit is available in a variety of textures and aggregate sizes.
StoSilco Lit is a silicone enhanced textured wall coating designed for use as a finish coat over prepared concrete, masonry or plaster substrates and in Sto’s Premier Cladding Systems, including Sto Premier NExT™. StoSilco Lit is a decorative and protective wall coating used for both restoration and new construction. StoSilco Lit is available in two textures and various aggregate sizes.

The two rilled texture finishes (Stolit R1.5 & StoSilco Lit R1.5) feature improved textured appearance. Although appearance depends on how the finish is textured, the new rilled finishes generally will exhibit a “crisper” look, with better definition of flats and rills.
