Sto EIFS NExT™, the latest offering from Sto Corp., offers all the benefits of an EIF system (looks, color, etc.) but incorporates a seamless secondary, liquid applied moisture/air barrier, the Sto Guard™ system.
Sto Guard™ is comprised of components that are physically and chemically compatible with each other for assured performance. It creates a continuous air and moisture barrier to protect the sheathing and other construction components. Unlike building paper or wraps that are easily damaged or torn during the construction process, Sto Guard™ is seamless, tough and durable. Sto Guard™ resists moisture penetration more than 5 times longer than leading brand house wraps, and more than 28 times longer than conventional building paper.
For traditional cement stucco, Sto Powerwall Stucco Systems offer proven advantages over conventional three-coat stucco: less weight, greater flexural strength, high impact resistance, greater quality control, and faster installation. HISTORY:
Sto is the world’s largest manufacturer of EIFS.
Sto AG began as a cement and lime plant in 1835 in Weizen, Germany. In 1955, Sto AG pioneered and introduced the first quality synthetic resin wall coating in Europe. Sto introduced EIFS to the European market in 1963, and in 1979, Sto Corp. began producing the world’s leading EIFS in North America.
Manufacturing of a complete line of quality repair and protective products for concrete and stucco restoration began in 1986.
Today, Sto operates three production facilities strategically located to serve a network of more than 170 distributorships that span across North America. Sto Corp. is ISO 9001 certified. Sto AG is ISO 14001 certified. Additionally, the Sto group of companies maintains research and development laboratories in Europe and the U.S.
PRODUCTS:
With more than 800 products in use worldwide for new construction and renovation projects, the Sto group of companies has been the innovator in the development of new cladding materials since participating in the origination of EIFS in the 1960s in Europe as well as traditional building construction products.
Sto's broad line of exterior cladding and coating products includes EIFS, component products, coatings and finishes and conventional stucco. SERVICES:
Sto Corp. supports its customers with a full range of services from design through installation. The Sto Web site provides a host of information for building owners, design professionals, builders and contractors. In addition to the most current information on Sto product lines and services, the Web site contains detail drawings, specifications and application tips for Sto wall systems. The Sto eManual gives building professionals ready access to Sto systems product information on CD. To reduce the likelihood of moisture in wall cavities, Sto offers architects dew point analysis at no charge. Users submit pertinent materials, design and climatic information on a form to Sto and within 10 days they will receive a comprehensive report. Sto Studio provides owners and architects early in the design process input from multidisciplinary international teams about adding the dynamic concepts of color, form, lighting and texture to maximize the beauty and increase the value of any building. At the Sto Institute, architects, builders, contractors, applicators and distributors are shown the proper techniques of cladding application. As an Allied Member of the AIA, Sto is able to offer design professional learning units. Approximately 500 building professionals have attended training annually since the Sto Institute formally opened in 1998. In addition, a nationwide sales and distribution network is available to assist customers with product questions. Applicators cite Sto’s technical support services as the second most important reason they use Sto products (the number one reason is high quality of products).
